‘A true political party’
DNC After Party Case Study
How we helped brand an after party for the DNC convention.
THE CONTEXT
The 2020 Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee was set to be a landmark political and cultural event, bringing together politicians, influencers, and engaged citizens. We partnered with a political PR and engagement firm to concept and brand an official party that would be fun, community-driven, and energizing — a space to celebrate, connect, and rally excitement. But beyond just a gathering, the event needed a distinct identity that aligned with the convention’s broader mission while standing out as a must-attend moment of the week.
THE WORK
Our team led the naming, visual identity, and digital presence for the event, ensuring it felt modern, inclusive, and dynamic. We also developed a comprehensive event plan, including entertainment, food, vendors, and activations designed to create an engaging experience that spoke to both political insiders and the broader community.
WHAT WE DID:
Brand discovery and exploration
Event naming, messaging, and objectives
Website creation
Event schedule and activation ideation
THE OUTCOME
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the in-person convention and all related events were postponed. While the party never came to life, the strategic work we developed laid a strong foundation for future political event branding.
THE TAKEAWAY
Even the best-laid plans can be disrupted, but strategic branding always has value. The work we created reinforced the importance of engaging, community-driven event branding and serves as a blueprint for future large-scale political and cultural gatherings.
